Port Elizabeth Launch

Launched Ruth First and Joe Slovo in the War Against Apartheid tonight at the Red Location Museum in Port Elizabeth. Respondent was Eastern Cape MK Commander and labor organizer Fieldmore Mapetho. This was nothing like either the Johannesburg or Cape Town launch. The conversation was current and political and reminded me of descriptions of UDF struggle meetings in the 1980s. It was a total learning experience - truly a remarkable evening.
